Celebrates Life of Board Member Corrinne Harper
East Detroit Public Schools mourns the loss of Board of Education Member, Corrinne Harper. Mrs. Harper unexpectedly passed away on July 3, 2009. Corrinne has served the Eastpointe and Warren school community as a Board of Education member for almost 20 years. She was elected to the Board in 1978 and served through 1983. Motivated by her love for children and the importance of a quality education, Mrs. Harper decided to again serve the school community and was re-elected to the Board in 1995. Corrinne was an advocate for the students and residents of Eastpointe and Warren. She wanted only the best for the district and volunteered many hours helping out at the schools and in the community. Corrinne's impact on the district was great and she will be missed.
