Elimination Plan Committee Soliciting Input
The district's Deficit Elimination Plan Committee is
soliciting input from the community on ways to increase revenue
and/or restructure district operations to eliminate the deficit.
An online form has been created to gather this information.

BOND PROJECT UPDATE
Current Projects Underway:
The Bellview Playground is
completed. The district held a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony
on October 29, 2009.
The high school band instruments
were ordered in August 2009 and most equipment has been delivered.
A couple of pieces will be delivered later this fall. Bellview Playground Groundbreaking

Projects being designed and planned
for construction Summer 2010:
The majority of the high
school bond work will occur, which includes:
Parking lot and site
work
Door hardware replacements
Roofing work
Kitchen equipment
Elevator work
Building lighting and fire alarm upgrades
Classroom projectors and whiteboards
Install network video system
Install clock system
Install card access system
Install video surveillance system
Replace phone system
Transportation and Maintenance Center
Replace parking lot
Replace roofing
Re-key door locks
Replace building lighting
Install Bus Lift
Replace phone system
Summer Work 2010 Bidding Schedule: The high school
and Maintenance/Transportation buildings will commence bidding
in October 2009.

Celebrates Life of Board Member Corrinne Harper
East Detroit Public Schools mourns the loss of Board of Education
Member, Corrinne Harper. Mrs. Harper unexpectedly passed away
on July 3, 2009. Corrinne has served the Eastpointe and Warren
school community as a Board of Education member for almost 20
