SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH BEGINS

The East Detroit Public Schools Board of Education has begun the search process to find the district’s new superintendent. Assisting the Board is Dr. Rodney Green of the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB), a service organization that supports the work of school boards throughout Michigan.

As the profile of the ideal candidate was being developed, the board solicited community and staff input. Residents of the district, all staff and administration were encouraged to participate in the process.  An online survey was available until April 29, 2015.

The Board will publicly consider the input received and develop a Candidate Profile, which will guide the process as candidates are recruited and selected for public interview. The board expects to select the new superintendent in June 2015.
