Mark Twain Elementary

Home and School Partnership

A time for school work is important.

Set aside ten minutes per grade per night...for example...kindergarten and first grade 10 minutes...second grade...20 minutes and so on. This set time allows students to complete assignments, work on projects and spend time "debriefing" you on the day's events.

A set bed time is important.

Students work hard during the day. If the school day is thought of as the child's "job" then setting a bed time is part of that schedule that is followed every day. Even if a student goes to bed to read to relax before falling asleep...that is a GREAT use of time!!!!

Communication is important.

Not only is it important between parents and children but also between parents and teachers. Sometimes there can be a mix-up in what happened both at home and at school. School personnel are always available to talk things over and provide information to parents. Scheduling a set time to communicate always allows both teacher and parent to have adequate time to discuss concerns. Just call us!! We don't know of your concerns unless you talk with us. The staff and I ask you to join us in making this a successful year filled with many exciting and wonderful events.

Together we continue to make that
Mark Twain difference.
