The staff at South Lake is truly dedicated to providing a well- rounded, comprehensive, stimulating program for all of our students. We do "believe that all of our students can achieve." Our programs focus on students of all levels of ability. The "STAR" (Students Taking Active Responsibility) program is designed to assist ninth and tenth grade students make the difficult transition to High School.

South Lake High School was rated "Number I" in Macomb County by the Detroit Free Press this past year. In "2000" our seniors received more MEAP Merit Scholarships ($2500) than any other district in Macomb county. Our MEAP-HST scores have consistently been among the highest in Macomb County too.

South Lake High School continues to excel in the areas of athletics, journalism, art, band, color guard, and drama presentations, with each area receiving numerous awards and recognition. We offer many other stimulating and rewarding activities and clubs.

We are all extremely proud of the successes that South Lake High School has experienced over the past years. However, our real challenge for the future will be to help our students keep pace with a rapidly changing world of careers and technology. I am very confident that we can do just that!
