Browning Elementary students are being honored for hitting a home run during March is Reading Month.

Students were encouraged by Browning teachers this year to create their learning goals, as research shows that individual goal setting is a key component to a child’s success.

Students who met their goal were entered into a classroom drawing to win a chance to go with Browning staff to a Detroit Tigers game.

Paws, the Tigers mascot, stopped by Browning on April 8 to celebrate the students' accomplishments and help pick the winning students in each class.

Browning's March is Reading Month activities were coordinated by teachers Sarah Tocco, Shawn Furtah, Amy Irvine, Marcia Jahn, Kathryn Skerske and Danielle Bernier.
