Monkeys

We are starting a safari unit in grades K-3. We will be studying the art of Henri Rousseau and the wildlife of Africa. These monkey paintings were created using basic shapes to layout the monkey. Then kids were taught how to use a variety of different brushes for different tasks in this painting. The hands, feet and fur are examples of brush strokes. A brush stroke is when you use the paint brush to create something in the picture. This is different than using the paint brush to just fill in a large area.
