Burr Elementary - A Make a Difference Community

Burr students collected food and blankets for needy animals. The animals have been out of work for months due to the slow recovery of our economy.

Thank you Burr community for a successful Burr Volunteer Group 2013 Fun Run.

We raised $6,707.00 for our Bulldogs.
Our Preschool/Nursery School students raised $600.80 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Burr collected toys to help needy children and gave them to the Marines’ Toys for Tots program.
Hat, Mitten and scarf tree helped needy children in the Macomb County area to stay warm this winter season
We supported the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society with the Pennies for Pasta program. Mrs. Sorrentino’s class raised the most money and enjoyed a special lunch.
Student Council sponsored our Kiwanis Food Drive.
Mrs. Harrell worked with the “Basket Project” to help Burr Families.

Kiwanis Club Food Drive

 

We collected 20 boxes of canned or boxed food for the Kiwanis Club which distributes food to needy families. The class who collected the most was Mrs. Henry's sixth graders. Congratulations!

Pennies for Pasta -Fighting Blood Cancers

Thank you everyone for all your help and support! We raised $1,240.59 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as part of “Pennies for Pasta.” Thank you from our student council.

 

Congratulations to Mrs. Hackler's fifth grade class. They raised $168.00.

 

 

American Red Cross Blood Drive

Our annual Burr American Red Cross Blood Drive was a huge success.

 

Total results: actual collection 27 units, 6 first time donor, 36 presenting donors and 7 deferrals.

 

The blood that we collected will help 81 hospital patients.
