The career center is located in the counseling office. Mrs. Fletemier, the Career Development Facilitator, is available from 7:00am-2:30pm to meet with students for questions, assessments, and other career related information.
Educational Development Plan (EDP)
Students meet with Mrs. Fletemier once a year to complete their Educational Development Plan (EDP) through Career Cruising. This is required for grades 9-12, and is updated/completed yearly.
To assist students in their career and academic goals, the EDP consists of:

Each year in the fall, the Career Center will begin scheduling over forty college visits to our school, typically running from mid-September thru the end of October. A representative visits for one class period to present a tremendous amount of information regarding admissions, various majors, college life, financial aid, as well as answers to students' individual questions.
- Reserved for Juniors and Seniors
- Maximum three visits per student
- Sign up in counseling for a pass
- Pass must be signed by parent and teacher for the hour of the visit
Each year the Career Development Facilitators from each high school plan a Career Expo for Utica Community School students. The Expo is typically held in the spring each year at Eisenhower or Henry Ford II High School. We have an average of 160 business professionals representing all six of Michigan's Career Pathways. This event allows more than 1500 parents and students to speak with active professionals in careers that are of interest to them.
