American Legion Scholarships ~ A variety of scholarships and awards are available to graduating seniors in Michigan.  Visit http://michiganlegion.org/scholarships.  National scholarships are also available online at www.legion.org.

Oakland University Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Scholarship Program ~ Award Amount: $4,800 per year for up to four years. For students who are interested in studying Industrial and Systems Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.  A total of 32 scholarships will be awarded.  Apply online at Oakland.edu/apply.  Scholarship applications are available in the counseling office.

(Ending Soon) KFC Colonel’s Scholars~ Award amounts up to $20,000 for tuition, textbooks, fees or room and board.  Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.75, enroll in a public college or university within Michigan, plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree and demonstrate need.   Apply online at www.kfcscholars.org.  Deadline is February 8, 2012.

(Ending Soon) MEA – Michigan Education Association Scholarship ~ only public education high school students are eligible. The criteria of selection are academic achievement, school/community service, and extracurricular activities. Applications are available in the Counseling office or online at www.mea.org/awards/meascholarship.html. Deadline is February 10, 2012.

(New Listing) Lawrence Technological University ~ You could will a $1000 renewable scholarship to LTU!  Open to all juniors and seniors interested in attending LTU. To apply you must complete the scholarship application online at www.surveymonkey.com/s/MIscholarship. Seniors must also apply to LTU at www.edu/futurestudents/apply.asp.  Write a 1,200 word response to the following topic “Are there fundamental shifts in ideals in business, industry, and society that need to take place to enable a sustainable future, or can goals for a sustainable environment be effectively implemented within traditional ideologies?” and email your essay to scholarship@ltu.edu before February 10, 2012. Scholarship competition is February 25, 2012 at Lawrence Tech University.

National Co-op Scholarship Program - Students are encouraged to apply for the ninth annual National Co-op scholarship. To qualify, students must: have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or better and complete all the required admissions applications materials and be accepted for the 2012-2013 academic year at one of the WACE Partner Institutions (Drexel university, Johnson & Wales University, Kettering University, Wentworth Institute of Technology, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Cincinnati, University of Toledo) To apply, complete an on-line application at www.co-op.edu. Deadline is February 15, 2012.

University of Dayton Leadership in Service Scholarship ~ Award Amount: $2,500 per year for up to four years. Please see Mrs. Dunn in the counseling office if you are interested in receiving more information about this scholarship opportunity.  Deadline is February 15, 2012.

Best Buy Scholarship Program ~ Award Amount: $1,000.  Students in grades 9 – 12 are eligible to apply. Solid grades and community service or work experience are required.  Visit www.bestbuy-communityrelations.com to apply. Deadline is February 15, 2012.

(New Listing) The Islamic Society of North America ~ Award Amount: $1,000. Available to Muslim students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who will be entering their freshman year in the fall of 2012. Applications are available online at www.isna.net/scholarship.  Deadline is February 15, 2012. 

(New Listing) Wayne State University College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts Talent Scholarship ~ Available to graduating seniors who have applied to WSU and plan to study Dance and Music, Art. Theater, Debate or Music.  Audition or Portfolio review is required.  Information is available in the counseling office. Deadline for application is February 18, 2012. 

Macomb Township Community Foundation ~ 10 $500scholarship will be awarded to graduating seniors who reside in Macomb County and plan to attend a two-yr or four-yr college or university.  Applications available in the counseling office.  Deadline is February 23, 2012.

Buick Achievers Scholarship program ~ 100 Scholarships for up to $25,000/yr, $1,000 scholarships at $2,000/yr, renewable for up to 4 years. Available to students who (1) will be enrolled full time as a freshman at a 4-yr college or university and (2) who plans to study Science, technology, math, business administration, finance, marketing or design and (3) are interested in a career in the automotive industries. Society of Women Engineers – Detroit Section 2012 Scholarship ~
over $3,000 in scholarships are available to exceptional high school senior women who intend to pursue a college degree in engineering. SWE, at a national level, also has scholarships for outstanding high school female students.  Applications are available in the counseling office or online at www.swe.org. Complete applications must be postmarked or emailed by 5:00 p.m. March 1, 2012.

Rosa parks Scholarship Foundation ~ Award Amount: $2,000.Available to students who graduate before August 2012, have a minimum GPA of 2.5, describe financial need, and can document community involvement. Applications are available online at rosaparksscholarshipfoundation.org.  Deadline is March 1, 2012.

Eastern Michigan University Alumni Association Scholarship:  Select children and grandchildren of EMU alumni may qualify for $1250 scholarship.  Apply online at emich.edu/alumni.

(New Listing) Optimist International Oratorical Contest ~ Available to graduating seniors in the Metro Detroit area who demonstrate academic achievement, strength of character and leadership potential, and financial need. Application information is available in the counseling office. Applications must be postmarked by March 1, 2012.

EMU Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship:  Applicants must be admitted to the university, maintain a high school GPA of 3.2 or higher, and must be sponsored by a parent or grandparent EMU alumni.  Apply online at emich.edu/alumni. Deadline is March 2, 2012.

Rudolph Heino Scholarships offered through Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union ~ 12 $1000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors who is a member of Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union. Applications are available in the counseling office or online at www.msgcu.org.  Deadline is March 9, 2012.

(New Listing) Sterling Heights Community Foundation  ~ 8 scholarship choices 20 awards for $500 - $1,000 each.  Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, financial need, community service and career goals.  Applications are available in the counseling office or online at www.sterlingheightscommunityfoundation.com.  Entries must be submitted by March 16, 2012.

(New Listing) Optimist International Oratorical Contest ~ $2,500 scholarship as well as awards of $50 - $100. Applicants will write their speech on the topic: “How my Optimism Helps me Overcome Obstacles”. Oratorical contest will be held on March 27, 2012. Application information is available in the counseling office. A copy of your speech must be mailed by March 19, 2012.

(New Listing) East Macomb Chapter Michigan Assocociation of Retired School Personnel ~ 2 $500 scholarship to deserving Macomb County public school high school students who are planning to attend Macomb Community College in the fall.  Applications are available in the counseling office. Deadline is March 30, 2012.

(New Listing) Gerald C Friend Memorial Scholarship  - Award Amount: $1000 renewable for up to 4 years. Available to graduating seniors in Macomb County. Applications are available in the counseling office. Deadline is March 31, 2012.

(New Listing) Shelby Community Foundation Scholarship Program ~ Award Amount: $1000 towards a community college, university or trade school. Open to Shelby Township residents who demonstrate financial need, and community service.   Applications are available in the counseling office. Deadline is April 1, 2012.

Credit Union ONE William G. Coyne Scholarship Program – To qualify you must be a graduating senior, whose family is a member of Credit Union ONE for a minimum of 6 months, minimum 3.0 GPA and have completed 30 hours of documented, qualified community service during Junior/Senior year.  Applications and information available online at http://www.cuone.org/about/scholarships.aspx. (New Listing) Michigan Retailers Association College Scholarship Competition ~ Award Amount: 30 $1000 scholarships will be awarded this year to members and their employees. Scholarships are not based on financial need.  Apply online at www.retailers.com. Deadline is April 2, 2012.

(New Listing) Motor City Co-Op Credit Union Bathanti-D’Agostino Memorial Scholarships ~ Award Amount: $2,000. Applicants must be a member or child of a member of Motor City Co-Op Credit Union, a high school senior who will attend college in the fall, and be able to demonstrate a distinct aptitude for higher education, in addition to significant academic and social achievements during their high school career. Community Foundation of Southeast Michigan ~ A variety of scholarships are available to graduating seniors in Southeast Michigan. Qualifying criteria and award amounts differ for each scholarship. Visit www.cfsem.org and click the Scholarships tab. 

Detroit Economic Club Scholarship Program ~ Award Amount: 2- $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors.  Scholarships are renewable for up to three years.  Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.2; demonstrate leadership and character through extracurricular activities, service in school and in the community, volunteer involvement and paid work experience, demonstrated financial need based on completion of the FAFSA, and overcoming hardship to achieve both academic and personal goals.  Visit www.cfsem.org, click on scholarships, and scroll to the Detroit Economic Club. 

(New Listing) American Polish Engineering Association ~ two $1000 scholarships will be awarded to seniors of Polish origin with a minimum G.P.A of 3.0. Application package includes one essay statement and three letters of recommendation. Applications are available in the counseling office.  Deadline is Saturday, April 7, 2012.

AAA Michigan’s School Safety Patrol Scholarship Program ~ $1000 scholarship.  Applicants must be graduating seniors with proof of AAA Michigan School Safety Patrol participation in elementary or middle school, good academic standing and a strong record of involvement in the community and /or extracurricular activities.  Applications are available in the counseling office and must be signed by your counselor. Deadline is April 13, 2011.

(New Listing) National Defense Industrial Association 2012 STEM Scholarships ~ Award amounts up to $2,500 scholarship.  Available to Michigan high school and college students pursuing education in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Requirements are minimum 2.75 GPA, planned enrollment in pursuit of a BS degree and active within your school or community. Apply online at www.ndia-mich.org/. Deadline is April 17, 2012.

Homer J. Hollenbeck Foundation ~ Award Amount: $2,000.  Applicants must attend a Macomb county high school, maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher, demonstrate a hardship which could otherwise prevent you prevent from attending college and attend college full-time in the fall of 2012. Applications are available in the counseling office.  Deadline is May 31, 2012. 

Jeptha Wade Schureman Scholarship ~ $7,500 scholarship, to be used at any of the 15 public universities in Michigan, available to children who have lost their father because of death or loss of parental rights before age 18.  Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, demonstrate leadership and character through extracurricular activities, service in school and in the community, volunteer involvement and paid work experience, and select a major that leads to a career in law, dentistry, nursing or medicine.  Visit www.cfsem.org, click on scholarships, and scroll to the Schureman Scholarship.  Deadline is June 1, 2011.

Big Sun Young Athletes Scholarship ~ $500 scholarship.  All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.  For more information, visit www.bigsunathletics.com. Deadline is June 22, 2012.

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship ~ Award amount: up to $1,000 to the winner(s) each year.  Full details on the essay topic and application are available on line at www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm.  Deadline is June 25, 2012.

(New Listing) Sigma Phi Epsilon balanced man Scholarship ~ Award amount: $250 to $500.  Open to male incoming freshman to Ferris State University who demonstrate ability to lead a balanced life. Membership is not required to receive the scholarship. Applications are available in the counseling office. Deadline is Fall 2012.
