Writer’s Workshop Mini-Lesson Plan

Lesson Focus: Brief Information Writing    GLCE:W.GN.00.03

 

 

Introduction:  At the end of a color unit the students will make color books.

 

Teaching:  The teacher would model the writing to “I see a” pattern and have students draw an object and / or write a word for each color.

 

Active Involvement…. Each child will create a page that will become a class book for each color.

 

Applying the Skill or Strategy:

Students receive practice in three areas through this assignment: showing knowledge of the colors, expanding basic sights words and drawing to a topic.
